(NPS) How to set up your Net Promoter Score campaign (the ultimate "How likely are you to recommend us..." question) in order to maximize the number of responses Print

 • NPS

This is how to maximize the number of responses to get not only your Net Promoter Score, but also who thinks what, and ultimately in order to be able to get back to your critics (detractors) and get raving testimonials and Google Reviews from your fans (ambassadors or promoters).

 1. Get or login to your Otto or Anapp-system

 2. Go to Settings -> Data Templates -> NPS Data. Choose language and give it a name (particularly important if you plan to pop the questions in many different scenarios. Examples can be: "NPS after 4 weeks as a client", "NPS after event X" etc. Click "Add NPS Sample Data" and everything will be set up for you.

 3. OPTION if you want to get GDPR consent at the same time, go to: Capturing -> Form Builder -> Form Settings -> Custom Tracking Script. Here you'll already find some javascript code. It's important to keep it as it happens to make sure you don't need to ask your visitors to fill in their e-mail again, but you can add your GDPR consent script directly after (you'll find it with the correct domain-name in a welcome e-mail, or you can just exchange {$service_domain} below with your own Otto-domain:

 4. Ok. Now you have your first NPS-kit set up. Your most important sequence is "Ask if you will be recommended (to find out your NPS)", and here you can change the text and looks of the question if you like: Or change the name of the sequence itself if you're going to have many.

 5. You need a "user" to send from. Probably yourself?! Edit the user under Tools -> User. You can use your own e-mail address if you have less than 300 contacts you want to ask (using your SMTP login details or an external mail-server e.g. Microsoft Exchange). If you have more than 300, you'll be able to send to many more using the built-in e-mail server within Otto, but then you likely want to consider a good domain-name if you now has something like 2xxx.anapp.com. If you already have "extra" domain-names you don't use for your current web-page, you can direct them towards the nameservers "ns1.sonician.net" and "ns2.sonician.net" and tell us. If you don't have them yet, try to find something like: companys.info if you now have company.com e.g. If you need a new domain, try to pick a good domain name here.

 6. Now you import the contacts you'll send to. Go to Contacts -> Import Contacts, and folllow the instructions. It's a good idea to add the ones you're importing to a list, so you later can identify these ones easily.

 7. Ready for Action?! Go to Contacts, make sure to only have only the list of contacts you want to ask the NPS-question to, by choosing the right list under "Filter", and quite literally hit the "Action" button. Now, you'll get the option to add the whole search result or just a select few to the sequence that at least previously was called "Ask if you will be recommended (to find out your NPS)", and the correct sender (if you have multiple users), and you're done! Over the next 3-4 weeks, the answers will be coming in.
